PRONOUN (KATA GANTI)

Digunakan untuk menggantikan orang atau benda yang sudah disebutkan sebelumnya sehingga kalimat menjadi lebih ringkas dan pengulangan kata yang sama dapat dihindari.

Bentuk pronoun berdasarkan fungsinya yaitu sebagai subject (subjek), object (objek) dan possessive (kepunyaan).

Contoh :
1. I will go to Bandung (sebagai subject)
2. Can you help me? (sebagai object)
3. This pensil is mine (sebagai possessive pronoun)
4. Where is my book? (sebagai possessive adjective)

Contoh soal berikut jawabannya (yang ditebelin):
1.   I often see (they, them) on the bus
2.   She lives near (we, us)
3.   (We, us) always walk to school together
4.   He teaches (we, us) English
5.   She sits near (I, me) during the lesson
6.   I know both of (they, them) well
7.   I always speak to (he, him) in English
8.   What is the matter with (he, him) today?
9.   He explains the lesson to (we, us) each morning
10. There are some letters here for you and (I, me)

Contoh soal lagi nih!
Kata yang dicetak miring merujuk pada kata yang dibold.

1. Each cat has its own dish for food and water. (kalau ada kata 'each' menunjukkan tunggal, jika kata cat-nya ditambahkan 's' menjadi 'cats' maka itu salah)
2. I also knew my lesson well
3. Both girls prepare their lesson well. (kalau ada kata 'both' menunjukkan jamak, sehingga subjeknya harus jamak. Contoh : girls)
4. We enjoy our English class
5. She always does well on all her examinations

1. He was only joking, you shouldn't take it seriously.
2. The typist says she / he has already typed the letter.
3. Mr. Jim bought a new car. Ask him how much he paid for it.
4. Did the salesgirl say what she is selling?
